THE PROBLEM — WHAT WE’RE UP AGAINST

Around the world, young people live at the heart of crisis and change — yet too often, they’re treated as bystanders to decisions that define their future.

Democracies struggle to engage youth in shaping policies.Intergenerational dialogue has weakened.Local and marginalised youth voices are drowned out by louder, well-funded narratives.

We see this every day:

Poor youth and adolescent engagement in democratic processes — the systems that should listen, don’t.
Weak intergenerational dialogue — generations talk about each other, not to each other.
Limited inclusion of marginalised and vulnerable children and youth — those with the most at stake are the least represented.
Neo-colonial narratives in participation and education — external voices still define what “leadership” looks like.
Chronic underfunding of local youth- and child-focused initiatives — ideas thrive locally but die without support.
Youth excluded from peace and security discourses — treated as victims, not as peacebuilders.This isn’t a gap. It’s a pattern — one that silences youth and sustains inequity.

OUR RESPONSE — HOW WE CHANGE THE SYSTEM

Future Rights exists to break olds pattern.
We are a catalyst for justice, participation, and accountability — working with children, youth, and civil society to shift power back to those who live the realities of change.

Our approach is twofold:

It’s how we turn ideas into impact: through evidence, collaboration, and intergenerational leadership.

A partnership and service system that powers youth- and child-led initiatives with what they need most — resources, visibility, accountability, and connection.

The ELEVATE Learning Approach

Because transformation starts with how people think.
We build justice-driven mindsets — helping youth, institutions, and allies learn together about power, participation, and evidence.
It’s not a training , yet it’s a rethinking of how change happens, and who leads it.
We teach systems thinking, participatory evidence— because change that lasts must also learn as it grows.

Together, these two halves — Model and Learning Approach — form a cycle:

Learning → Action → Reflection → Evidence → Systemic Change
